DeoDoc on Work, Life & pH Balance

We sat down with the sisters of the intimate skincare line to learn how to roll with the pandemic punches in balanced and minimalist Swedish style.

When it comes to most aspects of life, the Swedes take a minimalist approach. From head to toe to down below, less is more! When we met the founders of a revolutionary intimate skincare brand last year, we learned to toss the excess in our bikini area regimen. After saying au revoir to fragranced shaving cream, feminine body wash and intimate douches, we said bonjour to DeoDoc. Or as the Swedes say, hallå!

In addition to helping women maintain their pH balance, Dr. Hedieh Asadi and Hasti Asadi have the added challenge of running a business during a pandemic. From writing a blog to hosting a podcast to educating women across the world, Hedieh and Hasti have plenty on their plate. We sat down with this super sister duo to learn how to roll with all the pandemic punches in balanced and minimalist Swedish style.

Office | Kontor

What has been your experience with running a business during a pandemic?

Hedieh: For us, it has meant less traveling of course. As founders, we have been able to stay at the headquarter and focus on building our organization.

Hasti: But of course a lot of uncertainty is part of our everyday life and there have been some delays in production.

How do you maintain work-life balance?

Hasti: Since Sweden never had a lockdown, our office has been open as usual. Gyms have remained open as well, so we’ve still been able to go the gym and office to keep our work-life balance and to stay sane.

Hedieh: But, we have of course enforced restrictions with physical meetings, especially as we have parents in the risk group.

Your philosophy to success since the pandemic started…

Hedieh: “This too shall pass…” No, but honestly, try to find the positive aspects in everything. What can this pandemic teach us?

Beauty | Skönhet

Go-to skincare and makeup products for your everyday look?

Hedieh: We both only use DeoDoc products for our daily facial skincare, hehe. We use the DeoDoc Daily Intimate Wash as a makeup cleanser. If it is gentle enough for the vulva, it is also gentle enough for the face! We are currently developing a vulva lotion, which we have both started to also use on the face as a moisturizing crème.

Hasti: As we are sisters, we use the same type of makeup as well. Both of us use the L’Oréal Telescopic mascara, concealer from Shiseido, blush from Guerlain, and lipstick from Tom Ford for our everyday look.

In your opinion, how does the Swedish approach to beauty differ from the American’s?

Hedieh: I think in Sweden, the approach is less is more.

If Sweden could be defined by one beauty trend, what would it be?

Hedieh and Hasti: Hehe, here we have to be biased and say: Swedish Intimate Skincare ;)

Balance | Balans

What do you do to stay healthy?

Hedieh: Exercise is very important for both of us. We both go to the gym regularly and do yoga. We recently also started to take Zumba lessons together.

Your go-to Swedish lunch?

Hasti: We actually often eat Swedish Meatballs and potatoes with lingonberry.

How do you unwind at the end of a long day?

Hedieh: Since we launched a vulva-friendly Bubble Bath this year, both of us are obsessed with taking long baths after work. It does wonders for your body, mind and soul (+ vulva), especially during this cold Swedish winter season.
