BWB: When did you start getting involved in exercise and nutrition?
I have always lived a healthy lifestyle. I grew up a ballerina so grew up in an active world, even though it wasn’t always a healthy world; I saw a lot of exaggerated health trends. When I stopped dancing I really wanted to live a happy and healthy lifestyle instead of a competitive unhealthy one!
BWB: What inspired you to start your own company?
After working many 9-5 jobs I knew that the corporate world wasn’t for me. I always wanted to start my own company, but I didn’t know what it would be.
BWB: How much do natural solutions factor into your approach to beauty and wellness?
I love a natural approach to wellness. There aren’t that many topical all natural solutions yet for skin so I usually digest natural herbs and tonics so that I am feeding my body with natural and organic nutrients.
BWB: As a fashion enthusiast, do you have any favorite looks this season?
I love the fall and layering. I think a colorful bag always adds a nice pop of color to an all black look or even a colorful coat. I also love resort looks just because I’m always ready for a beach vacation!
Skinny pop, is a great snack to have on hand, or any granola. Lately I have been loving the granola from Hu kitchen.
BWB: As someone who travels a lot for work, what are your handbag essentials when going abroad?
I always have lavender herbal mist which I spray for calming, Clinique chubby sticks in blossom because it adds a little bit of color and a lot of moisture, skinny pop, which is a great snack to have on hand, or any granola. Lately I have been loving the granola from Hu kitchen.
When in NY, I love going to Bari Studio and grabbing a Luli Tonix after class.
BWB: Tell us a little bit about your beauty and wellness routine. Do you have any favorite beauty brands and best places to get your post-workout snacks?
I try to workout 5 days a week and I always have a protein smoothie post workout. Depending on what city I am in, I have different workout routines and different places I go for post workout nutrition.
- When in NY, I love going to Bari Studio and grabbing a Luli Tonix after class. If I do a 305 fitness class and I will run home afterwards and make myself a smoothie. Juice Generation is also great for protein smoothies.
- In Miami, I love Jugo Fresh. They make the best acai bowls in town.
- In L.A., I love Earth bar or Beaming for protein shakes. There are also so many good workout places there, like Carries Pilates plus, Rise Nation and Millennium or BBS for a good dance class.
BWB: Do you have any words of wisdom for women who are looking to become entrepreneurs?
If you really think you have a great concept and idea, I would suggest putting together a competitive landscape to really see where you fit in the market. Then you should make a business plan to understand if your idea can even be profitable.
