Deep Nature now manages 40 spas and well-being centers, employing over 400 people around the world.

BWB: Deep Nature creates and manages spas all around the world. Where does your passion for well-being come from?

I decided to change my life 11 years ago when I began managing one of the most beautiful thalasso spas in France: Deauville. I created Deep Nature based on the Deauville business philosophy. One of my first successes was the creation and management of the Deep Ocean Spa Bora Bora, which launched my company. Deep Nature now manages 40 spas and well-being centers, employing over 400 people around the world.

BWBYou created a spa on Marlon Brando’s island in Bora Bora. What motivated this choice? Marlon Brando’s Island is called Tetiaroa.

Marlon Brando came up with the original idea for this ecotourism center. My business partner in Polynesia and a prominent leader in the hotel industry, Richard Bailey decided to expand on Brando’s concept. He asked us to create a unique spa inspired by Brando. In the end, we created VARUA Polynesian Spa, a high-end spa with our own cosmetic line: thebrando.com

BWB: How were you inspired by the spirit of the island to create the spa and the services?

We have managed three spas in Polynesia for 10 years now with a deep knowledge of the culture and the practices around treatments in the region. We also develop treatments with our staff, half of whom are native to the area. We created our line with a laboratory based in Tahiti using local products from the islands. For the Brando, we also studied the history, traditions and rituals of the island.

BWB: Can you tell us a little more about the Deep Nature Blue Massage?

Bora Bora Deep Blue Massage is the signature treatment of Deep Ocean Spa Bora Bora. We use Algotherm’s The Elixir and the Divine cream, which we created specifically for the spa with deep-sea water from 3,000 feet below the surface of the Pacific Ocean. It’s a hydrating treatment infused with marine purses and is followed by a relaxing massage.

We also offer bungalows with glass floors over the water to admire the ocean world during the treatment.

BWB: What else did you incorporate into the spa to offer the best experience possible?

Deep Ocean Spa offers hydrotherapy, beauty treatments and energy work areas. We also offer bungalows with glass floors over the water to admire the ocean world during the treatment.

Thalassotherapies are based on the idea of warming up the sea water to human body temperature (approximately 98 degrees Fahrenheit). It optimizes the therapeutic effects of seawater.

BWB: What are the benefits of thalassotherapy?

Thalassotherapies are based on the idea of warming up the sea water to human body temperature (approximately 98 degrees Fahrenheit). It optimizes the therapeutic effects of seawater and provokes vasodilatation of the blood vessels for better absorption by the skin. Moreover, Deep Ocean Spa captures water for its treatments from levels deeper than any other thalasso in the world. At that level, the water is pure, less salty and without any trace of pollution or hydrocarbons. We conduct testing for our clients to ensure the purest possible water.

BWB: Which thalasso products do you recommend for women in their twenties and thirties?

All the products from the Algotime Control line from Algotherm are great. Light and moisturizing, the line prevents and reduces the appearance of the first wrinkles and fine lines, and also works on the elasticity of the skin. I also recommend the relaxing massage with deep-water purses.

BWB: And for women in their forties and fifties?

The Algotime Expert line from Algotherm is perfect for them and will have a deeper anti-wrinkle action. The Tahitian wave massage, with a soft scrub followed by a traditional Polynesian massage, is a must. The treatment offers a gentle exfoliating black sand scrub with a rhythmical wrapping massage that mixes Lomi Lomi techniques and Polynesian know-how.
