The Fat Radish Kitchen Diaries

Anyone that has dined at legendary NYC restaurant The Fat Radish has likely dreamed of living in the Fat Radish kitchen.

Anyone that has dined at legendary NYC restaurant The Fat Radish has likely dreamed of living in the Fat Radish kitchen.
Thankfully, the next best thing does exist.

The restaurant’s founders and owners Ben Towill and Phil Winser join forces with chef Nick Wilber and Julia Turshen for this glimpse inside a year in the life of their vibrant kitchen.
The book is organized by season and lets local produce shine.
Like the restaurant’s menu, the recipes are simple, but elegant, combining crowd-pleasing fare with healthy ingredients.
The book features more than 100 recipes from the restaurant’s always changing menu including their famous “Fat Radish plate”, sweet pea pot pie, avocado toast with eggs and the carrot and avocado salad with hijiki and crispy kale.
The book serves up everything from meat and fish-based dishes like the Fat Radish cheeseburger and duck fat fries to naturally healthier options like a bircher muesli, miso-glazed turnips, gingered quinoa and nori rolls or a “greens, garlic and grains” bowl.

Like the restaurant, there is something for everyone in this book.
The recipes strike a nice balance between easy to whip up at home and gourmet professional flare from a restaurant kitchen.

The book is sprinkled with behind-the-scenes snapshots of restaurant life, giving the book a very accessible, laid-back vibe.
