It’s All In The Eyes
We have 6 top eye products that will give your eyes all the support they need.
A wise man once said that our eyes are the windows into our souls. However, after a season of parties, sleep deprivation, and a struggle to keep up with the holiday whirlwind, it feels like my eyes are more a reflection of my accumulated exhaustion. Fortunately, with the New Year it is now the perfect time to make a resolution to properly care for our tired eyes, and reevaluate what products we use on them.
These dramatic differences between the skin around our eyes and the rest of our facial skin highlight the importance of choosing products that are designed solely for that area.
When anything is ever wrong with us, the problems show first in the wrinkles and bags that appear round our eyes. Why? Because the skin there is 10x’s thinner than the rest of the skin on our face. This means there is less collagen, elastin, fatty tissue and oil glands there than in the rest of our body. It’s no wonder, then, why our eyes are directly affected when we are sick, tired, or have simply had too much champagne. These dramatic differences between the skin around our eyes and the rest of our facial skin highlight the importance of choosing products that are designed solely for that area.
Fortunately, there are ways we can keep this sensitive area appearing bright and wrinkle free; we can wear sunglasses, get plenty of regular sleep, hydrate ourselves, and eat healthily. And for those of us that require a little additional assistance, BWB has 6 top eye products that will give your eyes all the support they need.
1. Natura Bisse’s The Cure Sheer Eye
It is a concealer, brightener and sunblock all-in-one. It makes your eyes glow while seamlessly hiding dark circles and discoloration. Key ingredients include water lily, which detoxifies; Rucus, which increases circulation; and ivy, caffeine, peptides, hyaluronic acid and titanium dioxide, a great sunblock component.
Tip: If you love the concept of this, you will surely love their Cure Sheer Cream. It has the same magical effects on your whole face.
2. Aurelia Eye Revitalising Duo
It is wisely designed to address the different needs of your eyes for both the morning and night. Their day product, Revitalise & Brighten Eye Dew, has a rollerball that applies the light serum. The application provides a soothing massage, and the under eye feels firmer almost immediately after use. For the night, their Illuminate & Smooth Puff Reduction feels like air light whipped cream and calms on impact. Both products include an abundance of botanicals, probiotics and peptides. Some key ingredients include the bitter orange water, bifida ferment lysate, hibiscus, milk protein and borage seed oil.
3. Verso Super Eye Serum
It is all about anti-aging. The name Verso, in Latin, means “Reverse” and their product does the name due justice. Their ingredients are meant to reverse damage from sun exposure and the natural breakdown of collagen fibers. The signature ingredient, Retinol 8, is said to be eight times more effective than prescription retinol, and combined with vitamin B3 and polyphenol extract, this serum is sure to win every battle you have with fine lines, uneven texture and loss of suppleness.
Tip: I recommend using this in the evening every night. Rest assured, it is designed for even the most sensitive eyes, allowing all of us to benefit from the powers of vitamin A. Give it a couple weeks and you will begin to see a transformation.
4. Drunk Elephant’s Shaba Complex Eye Serum
My favorite east-meets-west concept product. They provide the perfect combination of natural ingredients, all backed by science. Although this product is described as a serum, its light cream base is lovely. My favorite ingredients include the Black Tea Ferment, which smooths the skin, peptides that increase collagen, Niacinamide, which improves elasticity, and Seabuckthorn Oil, an anti-inflammatory oil high in fatty acids and vitamin A & E.
This cream will fix just about everything.
5. Votre Vu Antioxidant Eye Gelée
It is a lifesaver. It looks like the Mediterranean Sea and feels like a cure for all of your sinful playtime. With its combination of carrot oil, cerasome A & E, meilissa extract, chamomile extract, parsol and allantoine, this cream will fix just about everything.
Tip: I like to keep it in the fridge, the coolness adds to its soothing components.
6. Tatcha Deep Hydration Revitalizing Eye Mask
It brings eye care to the next level. Tatcha uses a biocellulose mask originally designed for burn victims. Thankfully, our needs are not as severe, but this delivery system allows its amazing ingredients to penetrate all the deeper. Some of the incredible components include Royal Jelly, which is fast becoming one of my favorite ingredients (it is exceptional at hydration), Red Algae, Silk and Peony extract
Tip: I actually combine these eye masks with whatever facial mask I’m currently in need of and fall into a complete spa moment right in my home.
So friends, let’s start the year off right by giving our eyes the respect they deserve and showing them the same amount of love that we give to the rest of our face every day.
One final tip…I find that eye products are the perfect window to a skin care line’s soul. If you like their eye creams there is a good chance their other products will work well for you also.
