Their newest addition is the LED LightStim Bed, which is a non-invasive anti-inflammatory treatment that can give you tighter skin, pain relief, and lower blood pressure.
Living in a bustling and overflowing city like New York can be invigorating, exciting, and blissfully exhausting. It is important but often very difficult to incorporate forms of wellness into your daily regimen, but Yelo Spa makes it easy for a busy New Yorker to stop and take a breath (or a nap!).
Located in the heart of New York City on Fifth Avenue, Yelo Spa individually crafts personalized treatments to accommodate crazy schedules, making it easy to include self-care into your daily routine. Their newest addition is the LED LightStim Bed, which is a non-invasive anti-inflammatory treatment that can give you tighter skin, pain relief, and lower blood pressure.
Recently approved by the FDA and located at only one other spa in New York City, the LED LightStim Bed is composed of 18,240 LEDs of multiple wavelengths which work in tandem to temporarily relieve muscle, joint, and arthritic pain, and increase local blood circulation and fuel production. Think of yourself as a beautiful, budding plant. We need light to create energy, too!

Nicolas Ronco, owner and founder of Yelo Spa, describes the experience like a day at the beach. You leave the bed feeling grounded, relaxed, and at peace— without sand wedged between your toes or risk of sun damage. As someone with fair skin who loves the beach but hates the tedious process of reapplying sunscreen over and over again, I couldn’t wait to see if this was true. A day at the beach minus layers of sunblock grease? Count me in.
Maya Daskalova, manager at Yelo Spa, let me know that my first experience in the LED LightStim Bed would— at the very least— make me feel pleasantly warm and tranquil. For more noticeable long-term results, the spa recommends that you complete five to ten sessions of 40 minute treatments. Even so, Nicolas was able to see a difference in Maya’s face after she had spent just a few moments setting up the cabin while the bed was on. “Did you just come out of a session?” she remembers him asking.
By the time Maya and I had spoken, she had completed several more sessions and her skin looked bright, tight, and amazing. I didn’t actually think that a single LED treatment would drastically change my skin, but part of me still hoped that a little magic would happen. I came back to Yelo Spa a couple days later without any makeup, ready for my day at the beach.
I waited on a plush magenta couch while the LED cabin was being prepared. The cabin is coated in a cool neon blue light when the bed is turned off, but the entire cabin lights up with piercing red light when the bed is turned on. During the first twenty minutes, you lie face up with the LED LightStim Facial Spa Machine Panels hovering close over your face. It took me some time to relax and adjust to the sudden increase in warmth and bright light. As I began to lightly sweat, I was able to start letting go.
The machine beeped and and turned off for about thirty seconds, signaling me to push the facial panels away, flip over onto my stomach and nestle my face in a cushy headrest. The bed will make a lot of crunching noises as you shift around, but it’s nothing to worry about as it is just each LED light curving to accommodate the shape of your body. Make as much noise and take up as much space as youneed!
When my session was over, I still felt remnants of warmth in my body and I felt like my muscles were taking a big sigh— melting, expanding, pulsating. I went to the bathroom to apply some makeup before I left, and I saw a glow to my skin that wasn’t there when I arrived that morning. I felt fresh and renewed. When I arrived at the Beauty and Well Being office that afternoon, Clémence immediately remarked on how nice I looked that day.
Yelo Spa offers their LED LightStim Bed treatments for $150 each as opposed to the $300 standard, and you do not need to be a member of the spa to come in for a session. While this is not a routine that I personally would be able to maintain as a college student on a budget, I would definitely try this again and recommend it to others to experience— if even just once.
Everyone deserves a day at the beach.
