One Valentine’s day a couple years ago, I found myself in the tantra yoga workshop where I met the stunning beauty, Nikki Sharp. Since then, we have become best friends, and regularly talk late into the night about everything from beauty detox recipes to our soul lessons, and she continues to inspire me every day. This down-to-earth bombshell has it all, and I’m so excited to share her sexy, juicy life with you.
I’ve become a health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and have found an effective way of addressing the emotions behind food decisions for my clients.
BWB: So, who is Nikki Sharp?
The short answer: I am an international model-turned-wellness guru. Most people look at me and think that I must have always had the body I do, that my skin has always been clear, and that my whole life has been easy because of the way I “look.” In fact, it’s quite the opposite. After battling a series of health issues throughout my life, I have come a long way.
My journey has been a tough but incredibly beautiful one. It has led me to getting certified in various fields in nutrition such as Nutrition for Everyday Living, Raw Foods, and Sports Nutrition at the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London. I’ve become a health coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and have found an effective way of addressing the emotions behind food decisions for my clients. Understanding this is what helps people achieve their ideal body and level of happiness, and stops negative habits with food that most of us have.
For eating well… is feeling good. To me it’s simple – when I eat foods that are good for me, I feel good. When I eat foods that aren’t good for me, I feel bad. No need to over complicate things. I personally love having energy, not relying on coffee, and having glowing skin, which is all based on food, sleep and stress.
For working out… is to feel confident about my body and have a clear mind. Working out helps me to feel great about myself and allows me to think clearly, especially when paired with clean eating.
For being a model/spokesperson…is to share the knowledge that I have learned. Having gone through a lot in my life, I’m now able to take all the life lessons and share them in order to help everyone else through their own journey.
Morning beauty routine… I wash my face with a light cleanser, then add a rose serum (I love this one!) and sunscreen, followed by my makeup. I’m pretty minimal and don’t like to use that many products. I also make sure to drink about 10oz of water before I get out of bed in the morning.
Favorite lunch… A salad with loads of roasted vegetables, and I mean all the fixings. Lots of avocado is a must, quinoa or beans, roasted eggplant or brussel sprouts, carrots, cucumber, hearts of palm. I can’t eat a salad if it isn’t loaded up!
In the evenings…a vegetarian curry that’s spicy – it’s one of my favorite meals.
Personal passions…traveling! I love learning about new cultures, foods, and meeting people all over the world. I invite you to come with me to Hawaii this summer. I’ll be hosting a retreat at the Four Seasons August 21-25th – it is going to be epic.
Favorite Travel spots…Bali! It is without a doubt one of the best places I’ve been in my life. I love New Zealand and the hiking, Monte Carlo for the culture and food. I think there is something magical everywhere I’ve been.
Plans for the future… To revolutionize the way we look at health and wellness.
Your “you” time… Going for a hike and taking a moment at the top to just sit and be. It’s the most refreshing thing I’ve been doing lately. I also love watching a new movie at my house with a glass of wine and just vegging out, which I don’t get to do very often.
Your energizer…lemon water
Your indulgence…wine, and my raw cheesecake
Your favorite restaurant, in the NYC or elsewhere…Plant Food and Wine in Los Angeles
Must-have skincare products… Coconut oil – I use it for everything! Oh and of course Grace Hair & Face oil! It smells ah-mazing!
Favorite makeup products…Inika mineral foundation, nude lip color and a gloss, and mascara. I can’t live without these.
Favorite Perfume…Gucci Flora
What’s ahead for you… A lot of travel – I’m in Thailand all of May to study at the Matthew Kenney Culinary school, possibly in Maine or Miami in July, and Hawaii in August for this amazing retreat Fern and I have planned. It will be a fun summer!
Summer rituals… I don’t have any real summer rituals, however I love to get out and travel, so anytime an opportunity comes I take it.
Summer beauty secrets…Stay hydrated and eat more raw foods, especially ones that are hydrating like watermelon, cucumber and lots of coconut water. Use sunscreen, of course. And smile a LOT! This is the best form of medicine to look beautiful.
About Nikki Sharp’s book “The 5-Day Real Food Detox” is the only plan on the market that is not juicing, smoothies, soup-only, raw food, or deprivation. You eat 5 meals a day, for 5 days and they are all incredibly delicious and nourishing. The book debunks what detoxing is, why this plan works above others, and teaches you how to eat for long-term success.
